GCO’s main objectives are

• Supporting drought affected agro-pastoral communities through strengthening their resilience capacity.
• Supporting livelihood situations of poor families.
• Improving environmental condition through community awareness raising, soil conservation and reforestation programs.
• Empowering the youth (men & women) with marketable vocational skills that make them self-reliant.
• Promoting communities and institutions to improve reproductive health condition through communication, advocacy and education.
• Strengthening community mobilization to change the behavior of community to eliminate miss-concept of save mother –hood and child care
• Building the capacity of pastoral community about draught respond
• Enhancing environment protection intervention through advocating to get cheap alternative energy.
• Raise community awareness on environmental protection and the causes and effects of climate change .
• Improving access for clean water to agro-pastoralist communities in Somali region
• Raising community awareness for human rights and protection issues of vulnerable and marginalized groups of the communities
• Creating/increasing community awareness for GBV, HIV/AIDS/SGBV, STI and FGM
