In connection to that, as part of the programming, there are seasonal programs including Ramadan Food distribution, dispatch and delivery, Odhiya /Qurbani Meat distribution, Eid Gift, and orphanage children sponsorship projects among others. As such, in this report will be stated our recent project. Hence, GCO would like to present and circulate our report in such a manner.
Udhiya/Qurbani is a practice done by Muslim communities across the world to commemorate the sacrifice done by the prophet Abraham. It is done during the Eid-ul-Adha holiday, in which goats, sheep, cows, and camel are slaughtered and given to the poor and destitute to help spread the joys of the holidays and festivities. It is a great way of fighting poverty as a society on a large scale.
The objective of theReport.
In this project, the intended household are 250 households as target beneficiaries, implemented into two sites the first sites were Dire Dawa IDP[i]s (Internal Displacement Persons) and the second sites were Addis Ababa-BoleBulbula Masjid). The project budget for the project was 11,000 USD from HHRD[ii] ( Helping Hand For Relief and Development ). The duration of the project implemented was the days of Eid-Adha as of July 20th-23rd, 2021.
The following were the main objective as follows:
- To produce to narrate the project accomplishment and progress both internally and externally including major stakeholders and external relationships;
- For the staff’s engagement in a project to understand the result of their effort.
- Finally, the related and relevant major stakeholders which are the Government to get the progress, result, and accomplishment of the project implemented under the disposal of GCO and funded HHRD
Major Activities Accomplished: In Summary
The following activities promised were portrayed here below:
- As Odhiya/ Qurbani, Meat was provided as a by-product of Seven Oxen purchased.
- The Seven Oxen-Meat was distributed, among which 3 of the oxen were provided in the site one in Dire Dawaa IDPs and the other 4 oxen were given the Addis Ababa- Bole Bulbula in Majid.
- Concussion and Recommendations
The following was the conclusion we’d like to share including GCO will be scale-up this into a macro project that will address the vast majority towards. Furthermore, as a recommendation, other fellow major Milt-stakeholders engagement exchange should follow the same roots to replicate such projects to the ground and end users beneficiaries.
